Survey listed most secure used cars

The most secure used automobiles in New Zealand and Australia have been known as after researchers evaluated 15 years of accident information including more than five million vehicles. The results, launched on 7-8-2012 by the Automobile Association and New Zealand Transportation Agency, listed 29 designs of vehicles, professional automobiles and four-wheel-drives with Safe Pick status. For eligibility they had to get the highest possible five-star protection ranking and be considered to cause less serious accidents to motorists with whom they clash, such as people on the streets, bikers and riders, than other automobiles.

About a one fourth of the 197 vehicles on the record had a lowest one-star ranking. Daihatsu had the most one-star scores across all sessions of automobile, seven, followed by Daiwoo and Hyundai, with six each.
