Safety ensured during car shipping

During car shipping, your car would be safely secured as there would be strong ties, metal chains holding the vehicle in place inside the carrier truck. When the car is being taken onto the truck, the auto transport carrier trailer tracks and drive up ramp would be mainly used. Thus the vehicle would not tilt or fall at the time of taking it in or out. Usually the metal trailer tracks would be wide enough so that it can fit most vehicle tires including sport cars, trucks and SUVs. Some vehicles like large SUV or pickup truck would have double tires which would be too wide and tough to fit onto the auto transport carrier. When such case arises, it is essential to inform the car shipping companies well in advance for them to make necessary arrangements for shipping such large vehicles.
The metal auto transport carrier trailer tracks would have small holes in them with spiky edges. The small holes would help the moisture and weather elements to pass through it and the thorny edges would give a grip onto the bottom part of the vehicle’s tires. There would be two benefits through the process. Your vehicle would be strapped to the auto transport carrier and along with that there would be spiky grip on the tires. Thus the automobile would be kept in place during the car shipping service.
Closely examine an auto transport carrier in motion. You can see that the metal trailer tracks don’t seem to be connected to one another. While loading and unloading the vehicle, the car shipping company’s carrier truck driver would use hydraulics to connect the trailer tracks together making it possible to drive a vehicle on or off the transporter’s truck. It may seem to an outsider that is really difficult to ride an auto transport trailer truck. But in real it is easily done by the professional drivers. Only an experienced is allowed to drive your vehicle up the carrier’s trailer. It is better advised to tell the car shipping company about all the details of the car and make sure it will be able to fit onto the delivery truck.
It is quite natural to be concerned about the safety of your vehicles during car shipping process. People are concerned about road debris hitting their cars. For preventing such road debris, there would be mud guards on the carriers. The mud flaps are seen behind the tires of the vehicle shipping truck and are made of thick high grade rubber. The mud guards work in a magical way that when small pieces of road debris get stuck in the groves of the truck, the guards would prevent it from hitting the vehicle. Sometimes there would be a metal mud guard covering the top and front part of the shipping truck’s front tires. This is to prevent road debris from hitting the customer’s vehicles. However if you are really concerned about road debris hitting your car, you can ask the car shipping company to take the car in the upper deck. This may be a bit higher in cost though.
